Al Fresco Everything—And Yes, Dogs Are Welcome!

One of the things locals and visitors alike adore about Chester is just how dog friendly it is. From cafés, pubs, and terraces, most welcome pups with open arms (and often a treat or two!).

With the flowers now bursting into full bloom too, the city’s many al fresco dining spots are at their most beautiful. Whether you’re sipping wine along Watergate Street or enjoying a pint outside a Rows-side tavern, you won’t have to leave your furry companion behind.

Peace Doves at Chester Cathedral

Also at Chester Cathedral, don’t miss the breathtaking Peace Doves installation by internationally acclaimed sculptor Peter Walker. From May 2 to June 17, the Cathedral’s nave will be adorned with thousands of individually decorated paper doves, each carrying heartfelt messages of peace, unity, and hope.

Bathed in gentle and evocative lighting, the exhibit transforms the venue into a sanctuary of quiet reflection.
