Summer City Flowers Planting

Chester city centre is looking brighter than ever as vibrant summer flowers bring colour and life to the streets, helping to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for residents, workers and visitors alike.

As part of Chester BID's seasonal efforts to enhance the city centre, local businesses came together to help plant an array of beautiful summer bedding plants, including Busy Lizzy, Begonias and Bacopa, adding a splash of colour to key areas across the city.

Businesses including Deva Travel, King Kabs, Brook Taverner, Beaverbrooks and Metro Bank rolled up their sleeves to take part in the planting, demonstrating the fantastic community spirit that continues to make Chester such a special place.

We're incredibly grateful to the businesses who gave time out of their day to help plant this season's stunning summer displays.

Their support play a huge part in creating an inviting city centre that everyone can enjoy throughout the summer months. It's wonderful to see businesses working together to help set the scene for summer!

In addition to the Summer City Flowers displayed across the Rows, Chester BID also supports businesses in enhancing the city's floral displays through its subsidised flower display service. Businesses with hanging baskets or outdoor flower displays are invited to coordinate their blooms with the city's seasonal planting and benefit from a 50% subsidy, helping to create a colourful and cohesive look throughout Chester.

This year, a number of businesses have taken advantage of the scheme, including Chez Jules, Cinderbox, Marmalade, Plana Terra, The Victoria who have received hanging baskets, Popcorn who have received flower troughs, and Spinners and Tesco who have received flower towers.

Together with the Summer City Flowers, these additional displays help transform Chester into a vibrant destination throughout the season, creating an attractive environment for shoppers, visitors and businesses alike.
