Paddington Bear Makes a Tasty Stop at Hickory’s Smokehouse

A statue of Paddington Bear, wearing a blue coat and red hat, sits on a bench eating a sandwich beside a Smokehouse restaurant sign.

Chester BID’s beloved Andean Adventurer Trail is continuing to delight families and visitors as Paddington Bear makes his latest move — this time to the ever-popular Hickory’s Smokehouse.

Following charming stops at Picturehouse, Storyhouse, Grosvenor Shopping Centre, and Chester Cathedral, Paddington has now taken up residence at Hickory’s, where he'll be looking out on to the River Dee.

It’s nice to have a BEAR about the house!

Paddington took a seat in Chester last year as part of Paddington Visits, a far-reaching trail spanning the UK and Ireland to celebrate the latest film release, Paddington in Peru. Since arriving this marmalade-loving bear has travelled far and wide making lots of friends along the way.

The Andean Adventure Trail, which has captured the hearts of residents and tourists alike, encourages explorers of all ages to discover Paddington Bear in various iconic locations across Chester. Each stop on the trail offers an opportunity to collect a unique sticker to fill your Andean Adventure Passport — perfect for families looking for a fun, free day out in the city.

Paddington will remain at Hickory’s until 30th June, he will then make one last mystery move as part of the trail.

If you’ve yet to join the trail, don’t worry — it’s not too late! Simply visit Chester’s Visitor Information Centre on Town Hall Square, answer a fun question, and you’ll receive all previous stickers and your very own passport to catch up and begin your journey.

Collect all six stickers and send us a picture of your complete passport for the chance to win a £100 Chester Gift Card.
