Hickory’s Chester has had a refurb!

Restaurant staff in aprons and casual clothes cheering in front of The Smokehouse pub entrance, arms raised.

Hickory's Chester has had a new look and extension - including the new River Room and Cinema!

Hickory's was born from a road trip over 15 years ago, when Neil their founder embarked on a fairly haphazard road trip across the Southern States. He fell in love with the passion for food, drinks and unbridled hospitality and knew he had to share what he had discovered. With love, passion and enthusiasm for all things BBQ, Hickory's was born in Chester.

Their commitment to creating a welcoming place for locals remains the same now as it did all those years ago. Taking inspiration from the places they’ve been to, with lots of quirky touches and Southern inspired design ideas, to create a place for everyone to enjoy. The new Hickory’s Chester's still got the same feel & laid-back vibes, but just with some incredible new additions.

Hickory's Smokehouse
To all our neighbours on the River Dee & the good people of Chester - a massive thank you for supporting us for the past 15 years. And what a 15 years we’ve had! We’ve proudly been smokin’ authentic BBQ, shakin’ cocktails & meeting so many wonderful guests. We have loved every minute & couldn’t have done it without you. We can't wait to welcome you in to your all new Hickory's Chester!

Authenticity is absolutely key for Hickory's and that starts with their smokers, which were shipped from the Southern States and have taken pride of place in their smoker room since they first opened.

If you're a fan of all things BBQ say hello to their Pitmaster John when you're in and ask for a seat at the Chefs Bar. It's been a big favourite since they first swung open the doors - so they've made it bigger and better. It’s quite possibly the best seat in the house with a view of their slow smoked Texas style brisket - their chefs might even lift the lid on a few pitmaster secrets.

Smoked barbecue platter with ribs, sausage and brisket in a pan, surrounded by fries, mac and cheese, slaw and chips. Warm rustic restaurant with a long polished wooden bar, red leather stools, hanging bulbs and an open kitchen with chefs.

There's no place better than down by the River Dee... and Hickory's have really made the most of this stunning location with their new River Room extension. You can still enjoy river views from the veranda but this space elevates the whole experience to create a more welcoming spot to dine. The new extension is on the river front where the Walled Garden used to be. Taking in views of the river it's complete with glass sides and a retractable roof for when the sun shines.

Warm, rustic restaurant interior with a central leafy indoor tree and string lights, tufted booths and wooden tables. Warm, rustic restaurant interior with tufted banquette seating, wooden tables and a central tree with hanging lights.

Along with the new River Room, the main restaurant area has also had a refresh - new seating & flooring, and a more accessible space for groups & families to enjoy. PLUS Hickory's Chester couldn't have a refurb without looking after our younger guests. so, they've built a new cinema room - think a bigger space with lots of comfy cinema seats. So the kids can enjoy a movie & some popcorn whilst you sit back & relax.
