Halloween Art Academy at The Art School Chester

Creative Days, Colourful Memories and spooky art!

Four days of spooky creativity, big art projects and Halloween fun for young artists aged 6–14.

Children can join us for one day, choose their favourite days, or experience the full Halloween Art Academy. Every day features a different main project alongside smaller creative activities, art games and challenges.

Every session includes guided tuition from experienced art teachers and exciting take-home creations.

Tuesday – Halloween Paint Studio

Our Halloween Academy begins with a full day of painting and creativity.

Children will create their own Halloween canvas artwork, learning acrylic painting techniques including colour mixing, blending, composition, texture and detail.

Alongside their main canvas, we’ll be painting pumpkins and taking part in Halloween drawing challenges, games and mini creative projects throughout the day.

Every child leaves with their own finished canvas and painted pumpkin.

Wednesday – Haunted House Workshop

Design, build and decorate your very own haunted house.

Children will transform a papier-mâché house into an incredible Halloween creation, designing everything from the colours and windows to ghosts, cobwebs, bats, pumpkins and creepy little details.

We’ll add a battery light inside to make the finished haunted houses glow in the dark.

Children will also create miniature decorations and take part in spooky art challenges throughout the day.

Thursday – Clay Monster Workshop

A full hands-on day of sculpting, building and getting messy with clay.

Children will learn real clay techniques including shaping, joining, texture and surface decoration while creating their own Halloween-inspired sculptures.

Ghosts, monsters, pumpkins, strange creatures and spooky characters are all welcome – imagination is encouraged!

Smaller clay challenges and creative games will run throughout the day.

Friday – Halloween Print & Design Studio

We’ll finish the week with a fun, energetic day of printmaking, design and Halloween creativity.

Children will design and print their own Halloween trick-or-treat tote bag while learning about pattern, printing, composition and repeat design.

We’ll also create Halloween prints, take part in collaborative art challenges and finish with creative games and our end-of-week mini gallery.

Discover Arts Award

Children attending all four days can complete their Discover Arts Award at no additional cost.

The Discover Arts Award is a nationally recognised creative qualification certified by Trinity College London, giving children the opportunity to explore different art forms, record their creative journey and celebrate their achievements.
