Chester’s annual celebration of literature, poetry and more returns this Spring!

The full lineup for Chester Literature Festival 2025 have now been announced, along with the news that the festival will now take place in Spring from this year onwards.

Words can appear in many different forms, and so their literature festival is never just one thing. Each year they celebrate all things written, spoken, sung and signed with a programme spanning right across different genres, formats and art forms.

From book talks and poetry performances, to workshops and activities, there’s plenty to explore across the festival when it takes over their building.

During the festival, Storyhouse comes alive with the written and spoken word. Throughout the festival period, you’re encouraged to come and say ‘hi!’ to their library team and take some time to walk around and explore everything it has to offer.

Inside, the walls are adorned with poetry, and bookshelves wind their way across three floors. No matter who you are or what you’re interested in, the library has something to offer everyone and is completely free to use.
